When Jordyn had reached out to me after getting engaged to Daulton, I Instantly screamed and said yes. Capturing someone’s wedding day is always an honor, but when it’s someone you’ve shared so many memories with, it feels even more special. I’ve known Jordyn since I was 12 – from sleepovers and traveling to the Dominican Republic together, to now photographing one of the most important days of her life, it was a full-circle moment I’ll never forget.

The morning started with Jordyn getting ready alongside her mom, and I found myself shedding a few happy tears behind the camera. After an emotional first look with her bridesmaids, we headed to the bay for her first look with Daulton. In true Jordyn fashion, she had a hilarious twist planned—one of his groomsmen dressed up in a wedding gown to surprise him first. Watching Adam stroll through the busy pier in a dress was a sight to behold, and once Daulton composed himself, the real first look with Jordyn was nothing short of magical.
I’m never going to get over this image. The bird against this CRISP blue sky is 100% a paid actor.

The entire day was filled with unforgettable moments, and I still can’t get over the spontaneous boat photos. While waiting to take bridal party portraits by the water, a man on a boat called out, “Want to come up and take some photos?”—and of course, I wasn’t about to pass up that opportunity. It made for the most unique and fun portraits that perfectly fit the adventurous spirit of the day.
I’ve never been down to this part of Annapolis, Maryland so I trusted Jordyn to take me to some spots for their bridal portraits. We found the most stunning little alleyway that sprinkled in the perfect amount of edgy/grunge into their photos.
The ceremony was short and sweet, yet so emotional and I cried for the millionth time as I watched my lifelong friend have her moment with her person. The reception was just as magical. When Jordyn first told me about their reception space, she was a little hesitant, saying it was “just a restaurant down by the water, there won’t be much decor.” Normally, I’m a sucker for a good venue decor shot, but this space was perfect for the vibe of the day. It wasn’t just a venue—it was one of their favorite spots to visit when they were in town. The warmth of familiar surroundings, the love of family and friends, and the pure joy of the night made it more beautiful than any decorated ballroom ever could.
This wedding was filled with love, joy, and unforgettable moments which is a perfect reflection of Jordyn and Daulton’s journey together. I will never take for granted the incredible privilege of this job, especially when it means photographing a lifelong friend’s wedding. It still amazes me every time I’m entrusted with capturing these moments, because they mean just as much to me as they do to the people in them.
