If you’re planning a Pittsburgh wedding and looking for inspiration that blends classic tradition with modern city vibes, Colleen and Nick’s day was the perfect mix of both. From a cozy North Side Airbnb morning to a timeless church ceremony, riverside bridal party portraits, and a chic downtown reception, this wedding showcased so many iconic Pittsburgh locations.

The day began in a beautiful Airbnb on Pittsburgh’s North Side, where the bride and her besties got ready together. These moments are always some of my favorites to photograph — hair and makeup finishing touches, champagne pops, emotional hugs, and all the quiet in-between moments before the day really begins.
I always make space for detail photos during this part of the day, capturing the dress, shoes, jewelry, invitation suite, and sentimental pieces the couple chose. I wrote a whole blog post on how to best prepare your details for the day and what to include!
The ceremony took place at St. Peter Church in Pittsburgh, a stunning and historic church that set the tone for a timeless and emotional ceremony. The architecture, natural light, and classic feel made it the perfect backdrop for saying “I do.”
Church ceremonies like this are a great example of how tradition and emotion come together — from the walk down the aisle to the quiet glances exchanged and the joyful celebration afterward. I focus on documenting these moments as they naturally unfold while still being mindful of the sacred space.

This is one of my favorite images of Nick and Colleen from the day – it shows so much joy after saying ‘I do!!!’
After the ceremony, we headed to the North Shore riverfront for bridal party photos. This part of the day is all about movement, laughter, and letting the bridal party be themselves. I guide when needed, but I also encourage interaction so the photos feel natural, energetic, and true to each relationship.

The celebration continued at the Renaissance Hotel in downtown Pittsburgh, where the reception was filled with heartfelt toasts, packed dance floors, and nonstop energy. The Renaissance is such a great venue for couples who want a sophisticated city wedding with plenty of space to celebrate.
From first dances to candid guest moments and late-night fun, the reception is where the story really comes full circle. These images capture not just how the day looked, but how it felt – joyful, emotional, and full of life.

I specialize in Pittsburgh wedding photography that blends candid moments with artful, intentional portraits — creating images that feel both natural and elevated. Whether you’re deep in Pittsburgh wedding planning for a historic church, a modern hotel, or an unexpected location, I’m there to tell the full story.
